MUMBAI: David Dhawan’s comedy film ‘Chashme Baddoor’, produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, starring Ali Zafar, Siddharth, Divyendu Sharma and Taapsee, has managed to stay consistent on its first Monday.
As reported, on Day 1, ‘Chashme Baddoor’ opened to a fair approximate Rs 54 million (Rs 5.4 crore) net. Day 2, Saturday, heralded an upswing, with collections coming in at about Rs 61.8 million (Rs 6.18 crore) net. Day 3, Sunday was slightly better, with collections of close to Rs 74.2 million (Rs 7.42 crore) net.
The first weekend total of the film is in the range of Rs Rs 190 million (Rs 19 crore) net.
On Day 4 box office collections were in the range of Rs 32.7 million (Rs 3.27 crore) net. This puts the 4 day total of the film to approximately Rs 222.7 million (Rs 22.27 crore) net.
The film undoubtedly has done better business in multiplexes rather than single screen theatres, with urban audiences lapping up David Dhawan’s remake. Despite the fact that the remake released on the same weekend as the original ‘Chashme Buddoor’, audiences have so far appreciated the new version of the film.
