Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh starrer Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela directed by auteur Sanjay Leela Bhansali has packed a punch in its opening weekend at the Box Office.

The film took a grand Day 1, despite controversies and protests regarding the name Ram Leela. The weekend remained strong with collections in the range of Rs 170 million (Rs 17 crore) net on Saturday and approximately Rs 189.4 million (Rs 18.94 crore) net on Sunday.

This brings the 3 day total of the film to a fantastic Rs 510 million (Rs 51.05 crore) net. The maximum response has come from Mumbai and Gujarat circles.

With such a speedy crossing of the first milestone, Rs 1 Billion (Rs 100 crore) does not look very far away.

More on Ram-Leela: BOX OFFICE: Will Ram Leela Kill Krrish 3 Spree?

After the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh released – Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 3 saw a good drop.

Krrish 3 garnered a terrific business of about Rs 1.27 billion (Rs 127.34 crore) net in its first week, in it’s second week the film collected a good Rs 77.3 million (Rs 7.73 crore) net approximately. Days 9 and 10 saw an upwards spike with collections in the range of Rs 112.1 million (Rs 11.21 crore) net  and Rs 140 million (Rs 14 crore) net respectively. This brought the 10 day total of Krrish 3 to about Rs 1.6 billion (Rs 160.28) crore net.

The third week of Hrithik’s superhero action film began with a mere Rs 20 million (Rs 2 crore) net, making the Rs 2 billion (Rs 200 crore) threshold difficult to cross at this point! (in Hindi, since the film has crossed the mark already with Telugu, Tamil and overseas collections included.)
