MUMBAI: Dharma Productions’ ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin has taken an excellent opening at the Box office on Day 1.
Directed by Ayan Mukherjee, whose last film ‘Wake Up Sid’ was a sensitive tale of the coming-of-age of a young boy, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ too has seemed to won favour with audiences for its youth appeal.
The tale of friendship, love and life has begun its cinematic journey on a very positive note, with a whopping 95% occupancy, doing especially well in the North Indian circuits. ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ has seen its most brisk business in circles like Delhi and Rajasthan.
The film also appears to be Ranbir Kapoor’s biggest opening so far. Noteworthy is the fact that the film has released on a non-holiday, and the numbers are all the more impressive considering this.
With rave reviews coming in from all quarters, critics included, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ is poised to become a blockbuster.
