The women-centric film ‘Akira’ has a strong plot. The movie also deals with various social evils. The collections of the film have dropped down by 40% to 45% from day one. The holiday on Monday in Maharashtra helped the film gain some better numbers in the circuit.
The Sonakshi Sinha starrer film can be rightly compared to ‘Jai Gangaajal’ in terms of earnings. The two films have fared almost equally at the box office. The first weekend collection of ‘Akira’ is Rs.4.75 crore net approx. on Friday, Rs.5 crore net approx. on Saturday, Rs.6.25 crore net approx. on Sunday and Rs.2.75 crore net approx. on Monday. The total collection of the film comes to Rs.18.75 crore net approx.
It can be assumed that the film will do a business of around 25 crores in this week. The overseas collection is also average with $165,000.
