MUMBAI: Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan has taken the third highest opening day collections ever after Dabangg and 3 Idiots. The movie’s net collections on Friday in India were Rs 127.50 million (Rs 12.75 crore).

As was reported earlier by Businessofcinema.com, Salman Khan’s Dabangg holds the record for the highest ever opening day net collections with Rs 145 million (Rs 14.50 crore). On the other hand, 3 Idiots’ first day net collections in India were Rs 130 million (Rs 13 crore).

While the movie has got poor reviews, the audience thronged to the theaters on Day 1. However, it remains to be seen whether Tees Maar Khan will be able to inch past Dabangg and 3 Idiots’ opening weekend net collections of Rs 485 million (Rs 48.5 crore) and Rs 400 million (Rs 40 crore) respectively.

Saturday and Sunday will be crucial for the fate of TMK at the box office.
