Badlapur, a crime thriller revenge saga starring Varun Dhawan started on a good note at the Box Office. The film, which received positive reviews from the critics, managed to mint around Rs. 7 Crore (70 million) on its first day. Even though being a small budget film, Badalpur received the third best opening of 2015, after Roy and Baby. Varun’s film did amazingly great in Maharashtra, especially in the cities like Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur.
Audiences loved Varun‘s performance as an angry guy, who goes on a rampage mode to hunt down the culprits who destroyed his family. Badlapur proved to be a successful image changer for the actor. But it was Nawazuddin Siddiqui who stole all the thunder. The morning show occupancy rate was around 28%, second best after Ranbir Kapoor‘s Roy.
But the occupancy rate increased even more during the afternoon and evening shows. The film received good feedbacks, so it is expected that Sriram Raghavan‘s Badlapur will succeed in pulling more money on Saturday and Sunday. This coming weekend, the film might just be able to successfully earn the production cost itself.
Well, that’s about Indian market. However, the film is also doing quite good in the International market. In the gulf region, Badlapur was released on Thursday itself and received positive reactions from the audiences.
