B. Sai Kumar, Group CEO Of Network 18 Calls It A Day

B-Sai-Kumar-Cover-PicIn 2011, B. Sai Kumar was made the Group Chief Executive Officer of Network 18 and in 2014, he has decided to move on and has put in his papers.

Prior to joining the Network 18 GroupB. Sai Kumar was with the Times Of India Group, where he worked with Times Music and Times FM.

If reports are to be believed then even the Chief Operating Officer, Ajay Chacko has also quit.

Now this could be due to the significant changes made at the company that is now controlled by Mukesh Ambani, ChairmanReliance Industries Ltd.

A look at B. Sai Kumar‘s role at Network 18, as given on the company’s website: “He oversees the group’s diverse portfolio of assets spanning news and entertainment broadcasting, digital and print publishing, filmed entertainment, digital commerce and other allied businesses. This includes a TV network comprising more than fifteen national and regional channels straddling general and business news, mass entertainment, youth, kids, English entertainment, factual entertainment and Home shopping genres. The group also operates a bouquet of web portals and a stable of special interest magazines apart from having a presence in areas such as entertainment ticketing, virtual commerce, broadcast services.

In a press release, Founder and Chairman of Network 18 Group, Raghav Bahl, said: “It’s not easy to describe Sai’s role and contribution to the group. He has been one of the key pillars of the Network 18 story. Needless to say the Network 18 family and I shall miss him dearly. But there comes a time in life when one takes a heed to ones’s calling and I wish Sai all the best for that.

On his departure, B. Sai Kumar said: “While all good things comes to an end, I see it as a new beginning and I am positive and hopeful that Network 18 scales new height here on.”
