Looks like Nikhil Wagle, Editor-In-Chief at IBN Lokmat, which is a part of the Network18 Group has decided to call it a day.
Nikhil Wagle took on to twitter and wrote, “My decision to leave Mumbai is final. Need to get away from crowds and madness!”
Apparently, Nikhil Wagle has not been reporting to work and is on leave for some time now as he was unwell and hospitalized. Nikhil has not resigned but looks like he is on his way out.
Nikhil Wagle has worked with Doordarshan as well as newspaper Aapla Mahanagar and has been with IBN Lokmat since its launch in 2008.
Nikhil Wagle started his media journey in 1977 as a cub reporter and In 1979 he was appointed editor of DINANK, a marathi newsweekly, making him, the youngest editor in Maharashtra. In 1982, he started his own publishing house and met with great success in this endeavor.
The magazine won many literary awards. In 1990 he began to edit Hamara Mahanagar, which is considered to be one of the most credible fearless and daily in Maharashtra.
Nikhil Wagle was imprisoned for a week in 1994 for criticizing legislators from Maharashtra and started television journalism in the year 1989.
Married to Meena Karnik who is also a journalist, Nikhil Wagle is an atheist and a self proclaimed liberal.
