Vidya Balan is very upset and disappointed as she could not dress up like Narendra Modi in Vadodara following protests.
According to Vidya Balan, by doing so it was her way of trying to pay her tribute to the Prime Minister.
“I didn’t want to politicise it. Whatever happened is unfortunate. I was only trying to pay tribute to a great Prime Minister in his city of Vadodara. I didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings and so I decided not to go,” Vidya Balan told reporters in Vadodara.
As part of a promotional plan for her upcoming film Bobby Jasoos, Vidya Balan had gone to Vadodara yesterday where it was planned that she would don a get-up like Narendra Modi and visit some places in the city including a tea vendor’s stall who was one of the proposers of Narendra Modi as a Lok Sabha contestant.
However, she cancelled it following protests. Vidya Balan, instead, concluded her visit to the city by visiting an educational institute in disguise. In the film which releases on July 04, 2014, Vidya Balan is seen taking up twelve various disguises as a detective including that of a beggar.
“I have been to Ahmedabad quite a few times, and this is my second visit to Vadodara. I feel I have developed a very special bond with Gujarat and the state holds a very special place in my heart. I have always been inspired by Narendra Modi and apart from that, my best friend also happens to be a Gujarati. Coming here always brings back special memories.” stated Vidya Balan with a lot of hope.
All said and done, we would like to wish team Bobby Jasoos all the best for its release.
