Another Bollywood actress, Hema Malini also opened up on the ban that is put on Pakistani artistes from entering India. The dream girl of Bollywood, quoted twice about the issue, after getting misinterpreted.
On Tuesday, when she was asked about the ban on Pakistani artistes working in India, she stated that she doesn’t want to comment much on this controversial question. But all she can say is that she is an artist and so are those who come from Pakistan to perform here. However, today the actress cleared her view and said she supports the ban.
Hema took to her Twitter to put forward her stand. In her series of tweets, she lauded the Indian army and their efforts to protect the nation.
Her first tweet says, ‘I wud like to say tht I am 100% with our jawans who are fighting & dying for our ctry & do not support Pak artistes workg here. Jai Hind!‘
She posted another tweet that reads, ‘Our army has done a gt job with the surgical strikes & the whole country shld be supportive of thm. Why ask for proof of action? Unheard of!’
On the contrary, celebs like Karan Johar, Salman Khan, and Om Puri supported the Pakistani actors. They faced severe backlash on their opinions about the same. In fact, Om Puri faced public outrage and legal trouble when he insulted the Indian army. In a tv news interview, he defamed the Indian soldiers saying that why did these men join the Indian army and who told them to take weapons. However, after realising what he has said is wrong, he apologised to the Indian soldiers, as well as to the people of India.
