After the recent Uri attacks, MNS demanded a ban on Pakistani artists in India. Varun expressed his opinions about the same that did not go well with people. He had to delete his tweets later.
The Dishoom actor first tweeted, ‘I totally stand with the government of India. If banning actors can stop terrorism, then they should do it. But that is something government needs to decide first.’
His second tweet reads, ‘Guys, my statement has been misinterpreted. I feel arts and sports are always made scapegoats.’
