Black Mass Official Trailer: Johnny Depp's Scariest Character Ever

The first trailer of the film Black Mass featuring Johnny Depp is out. And let us tell you, it is the best thing you will see today! After a series of bizarre out of the box roles, Johnny Depp is making a comeback with a serious grind-or-die character. Johnny Depp’s role as Whitey Bulger, the famous gangster from Boston has left everyone with chills.

Starting the trailer with Whitey (Johnny Depp) casually chatting with another character about a secret recipe that he discloses after being persuaded, the director slowly moves on to build the intensity of Depp’s character by comparing the secret recipe with the chances of Bulger’s secret identity being let out, making him look dangerous and unpredictable at the same time. In short Whitey threatens the other guy that if he could so easily give up the recipe, what are the odds that he wouldn’t snitch about the gangster to the police too?

The character then moves on showcasing some more badass scenes where Johnny Depp’s performance looks beyond brilliant. According to director Scott Cooper, many of the people who knew Whitey Bulger personally were left dumbstruck after seeing Johnny’s performance and couldn’t even bear to look at him because of the uncanny resemblance. Johnny Depp is well known for adding his own personal touch to the look of the character and this time he has proven yet again that he truly is the king of versatility.

Whitey Bulger, who was a notorious crime boss, was the brother of State Senator William Bulger, which will be played by Sherlock fame Benedict Cumberbatch. The film also stars Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson, actor Joel Edgerton and Sienna Miller amongst others. Directed by Scott Cooper and produced by Cross Creek Pictures the film is set to release on September 18 in USA.
