It is not hidden that Deepika Padukone has raised her voice against a leading national daily, and now Hollywood actress Emma Watson has also voiced her opinion, and slashed back at the stagnant society.
The Hermoine of Harry Potter, Emma Watson has been announced as the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, and she has taken up the grave issue of feminism at hand. But, unlike others, she was quite successful in delivering the message across the public. Her campaign is named the “HeForShe” campaign.
Stating an example, Emma said that she, who is a part of the female section of the society, was not allowed to become a team leader easily because they didn’t have the ‘muscle’ to be one; whereas a man in pain simply cannot express himself, else he would be termed weak.
While speaking of the issue, one of the most intelligent women in Hollywood, Emma Watson, startled men with her statement, “Men—I would like to take this opportunity to extend your formal invitation. Gender equality is your issue too.”
Hence, she makes it clear that feminism, even though it deals with the female section of the society, is all about gender equality, and not about giving more power to women.
