Ethan Hunt Is Back! Tom Cruise Agrees To ‘Mission: Impossible 5’

Hollywood Actor Tom Cruise has agreed to reprise his role as super spy Ethan Hunt in the fifth of the 'Mission: Impossible' series.

LOS ANGELES: Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions have confirmed that Hollywood Actor Tom Cruise has agreed to reprise his role as super spy Ethan Hunt in the fifth of the ‘Mission: Impossible’ series.

The ‘Mission: Impossible’ series is the 13th highest grossing film of all time with the franchise having earned just over 2 billion dollars to date. Tom Cruise has starred in all the previous films in the series.

Cruise produced the first ‘Mission: Impossible’ film in 1996 that was directed by Brian De Palma and based on the television series of the same name.

The 50-year-old actor will also produce the fifth film along with J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot company. The fourth installment of the spy films, which was directed by Brad Bird earned close to 700 million dollars at the global box office.

For the fifth installment “Jack Reacher” writer and director Christopher McQuarrie will go behind the camera, reports deadline.com. It is not yet clear whether Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Paula Patton would return for another round of action.
