Denise Richards Breaks Her Silence On Her Ex-Husband Charlie Sheen’s Illness

Former ‘Two And Half Men’ star Charlie Sheen revealed he is HIV positive in an exclusive interview with Matt Lauer on Today Show on Tuesday. The actor said that this was the turning point in his life when he got to know about the illness. He said, he decided to make a public statement because it was high time to end the attacks on him and stop paying people to keep his illness a secret. He revealed, in past four years, he has paid people around $10 million to keep his secret.

Right after the news broke, all speculations began whether his former wives and children were affected too by the virus. Denise Richards, who was married to Charlie from 2002–2006, finally opened up about her ex-husband’s illness. The interview was conducted a week before Charlie made his announcement. In a podcast interview with ‘Allegedly With Theo Von and Matthew Cole Weiss’, Denise said that Charlie was a completely different person when they were married. She said that he wasn’t a bad boy back then and was sober for 4 years. His lifestyle was very different.

The interviewer also asked her about her current relationship status with her ex-husband Charlie. She said that her relationship with Charlie has had its ups and downs. She personally likes to keep peace between them because the former couple have two daughters, Sam(11), and Lola(10), together. She said she will always be there for him, but he is an addict. Lastly, she added that for better or for worse, Charlie is going to be a part of her rest of the life. So, she keeps it very cordial and peaceful. The couple got divorced in 2006.
