‘Gangnam’ Sensation Psy In Korean Remake Of ‘Any Body Can Dance’?

If recent reports are to be believed, audiences might just get to see ‘Gangnam Style’ hitmaker Psy dance to Prabhu Deva’s tunes in the South Korean remake of Prabhu Deva’s ‘Anybody Can Dance’.

MUMBAI: If recent reports are to be believed, audiences might just get to see ‘Gangnam Style’ hitmaker Psy dance to Prabhu Deva’s tunes in the South Korean remake of Prabhu Deva’s ‘Anybody Can Dance’.

The buzz is that South Korean rapper and singer who became insanely popular with his ‘Gangnam Style’ might just reprise the role of a street dancer, famously essayed by Prabhu Deva in director Remo D’Souza’s film ‘Any Body Can Dance’. Reportedly, a Korean production house is negotiating with UTV Motion Pictures, to legally acquire the rights of India’s first 3D dance film: ‘Any Body Can Dance’.

UTV CEO Siddharth Roy Kapur said, “Actually, we are still in talks, it is very early to say anything. We have got enquiry rights from various people, so it is a bit too early to comment on that. But we are very happy with the success of the film.”

And so, if all goes well, we’ll get to see a very interesting case of life imitating art: where a foreign film will be remade based on an Indian entertainer. Moreover, Psy’s Indian fans will be more than curious to see if he can pull of the moves made famous by “India’s Michael Jackson” aka Prabhu Deva!
