The film’s screen play is written by Aline Brosh McKenna and Chris Weitz and is going to be directed by Kenneth Branagh. Cate Blanchett is finalized to play the role of the wicked step-mother.
This won’t be the first time that Emma is rumoured to play ‘Cinderella’. In 2009 Watson was rumoured to be considered to play the lead in a Goth-inspired revamp of ‘Cinderella’ written and directed by Marilyn Manson.
Sources revealed that Disney is believed to have also considered Imogen Poots, Gabriella Wilde and Alicia Vikander for the role of Cinderella. But, it seems Emma Watson is keen on playing the lead in Kenneth Branagh’s ‘Cinderella’.
