Angelina Jolie‘s Maleficent teaser trailer is out now. The trailer features Angelina Jolie’s five year old daughter Vivienne for the first time.
Don’t be afraid. Come out: Young Princess Aurora, in the trailer for Angelina Jolie starrer Maleficent urges Jolie’s character. “I’m not afraid. If I come out, then you will be afraid.” Jolie, predictably enough, is chilling as the evil queen Maleficent.

Angelina gets it down pat, playing the spooky Maleficent in the film adaptation of children’s fairy tale Sleeping Beauty. Her outlandish getup and equally scary makeup, coupled with the pale translucence of her skin and the eerie chill in her voice are enough to give anyone nightmares.
Funnily enough, Maleficent is the retelling of the old classic, from the point of view of the seemingly villainous Maleficent, and why she turned so cruel. Elle Fanning plays the teenaged Princess Aurora, while surprise surprise! Jolie’s own daughter, five year old Vivienne Jolie Pitt, is seen essaying the role of the young Aurora.
Directed by Robert Stromberg, this dark Disney film looks promising indeed, with the trailer attempting to unravel the mystery behind Maleficent. The trailer opens with Aurora’s voiceover saying she knows who Maleficent is, and that she had been watching over her her whole life. In a dark forest, Aurora frolicks among magical creatures, and then encounters Jolie’s bewitching Maleficent.
The trailer also touches upon the curse placed on Aurora, by Maleficent, and her subsequent years of slumber. It will be extremely exciting to see Angelina Jolie play such a wicked, flawed but ultimately human character.
Maleficent releases in May, 2014.
