Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio, who shot to fame with the historic Titanic, is planning to visit India soon. If all goes well he would be in India on January 4, 2014 for a four day trip and is expected to visit six cities.

Leonardo has been a part of some memorable films like Catch Me If You Can (2002), Gangs of New York (2002), The Aviator (2004), Blood Diamond (2006), The Departed (2006), Revolutionary Road (2008), Django Unchained (2012) and The Great Gatsby (2013). His films Shutter Island (2010) and Inception (2010) rank among the biggest commercial successes of his career.

However, Leonardo is not going to be in the country to promote his upcoming Martin Scorsese film The Wolf Of Wall Street, but to address a conference on entrepreneurship. The Wolf Of Wall Street releases in India around the third week on December. The film is directed by Martin Scorsese, is being distributed in India by PVR Pictures and MVP Entertainment.

On the professional front, Leonardo DiCaprio has signed on to produce a biopic about Bill Watterson, the media shy cartoonist who created Calvin and Hobbes. Leonardo has teamed up with Sherlock Holmes producer Roy Lee to make this biopic, which will focus on the creation of the comic strip and how the cartoonist coped with its unexpected success.

The film will be based on Dan Dollar‘s script A Boy And His Tiger and will be developed by Warner Bros, who bought the project and have reportedly fast tracked it to take advantage of the attention the cartoonist has received this year. Although the film is expected to move forward without input from Bill Watterson, it’s been suggested that it could be difficult to tell the story of the creator without it.

In fact, this is not the first time Leonardo is trying to come down to India. He has already made two unsuccessful attempts in the past. Once for a tiger conservation project earlier this year and the second time around he was supposed to come down to promote his film The Great Gatsby, that starred our superstar Amitabh Bachchan.

Lets see if Leonardo would be third time lucky and finally come down to India.
