3D Entertainment makes key addition to its team

Mumbai: 3D Entertainment, a company focusing on the production and distribution of documentary films for Imax Theatres and Digital 3D cinemas, has added Luc Blouin to its team in the newly created position of vice president, film development and partnerships. Effective 1 September, Blouin will be responsible for developing strategic business partnerships and sponsorship opportunities for current and future film projects.

He will remain based in Canada and will report directly to 3D Entertainment chairman Francois Mantello.

"Luc has been instrumental in the development and production of two successful Imax theatre documentaries in the last four years. His dedication to this motion picture business and inherent creativity make him a perfect match for our fast-growing company. His addition to our expanding executive team following last week’s appointment of Patricia Brandino as VP film sales for North America above all reflects the company’s commitment to the Imax industry and our firm belief in the importance of delivering outstanding ‘edutainment’ documentaries for the 3D medium," said Mantello.

"I am delighted to be joining 3D Entertainment and their dynamic team. I envision tremendous growth opportunities for equity partners and corporate sponsors associated with 3D Entertainment and their new strategy for accelerating the funding, production and release of new, innovative and inspiring underwater films," added Blouin.

Blouin’s most recent position was with Canada’s Sky High Entertainment, where he acted as VP film sales and marketing and was an associate producer on the documentary films Vikings and Dinosaurs 3D: Giants of Patagonia.
