Mumbai: Access Integrated Technologies (AccessIT) announced its plans for the installation of 150 of its leading edge CineLiveSM product in key markets throughout the United States.
The technology, which enables the live broadcast to movie theatres of both 2-D and 3-D events such as sports and concerts, will be added to those theaters that are part of AccessIT’s satellite network, all of which are part of the company’s completed 3700 plus screen Phase 1 digital cinema deployment plan. Installation of CineLive will begin immediately in 50 sites and is anticipated to expand to at least 150 by the end of 2008.
Announced at ShowEast in October 2007, the CineLive product has been developed in conjunction with International Datacasting Corporation and Sensio Technologies under domestic license agreement with AccessIT and is designed to work with AccessIT’s satellite network and digital cinema systems equipped with 3-D technology.
As content owners across the globe prepare for the capture and broadcast of live 3-D events, AccessIT intends to further expand its satellite and CineLive network to include its planned 10,000 screen Phase 2 digital cinema deployment plan expected to begin this summer.
"By deploying these systems now, we hope to encourage more live 3-D programs to accompany our proven 2-D live broadcasts. The expansion of pre-recorded 3-D content has broadened the addressable market considerably during the past year and we are committed to providing more choices for theatre owners and content providers alike," said AccessIT chairman and CEO Bud Mayo.
The following markets will be included in the initial rollout of 50 systems–New York, Indianapolis, Tri Cities, Los Angeles, San Diego, Colorado Springs, Chicago, Nashville, Baton Rouge, Philadelphia, Columbus, Savannah, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Cincinnati, Charleston, San Francisco et al, Grand Rapids et al, Evansville, Atlanta, Birmingham, Lansing, Houston, Austin, Peoria-Bloomington, Detroit, Mobile-Pensacola, Montgomery, Tampa-St. Pete et al, Roanoke-Lynchburg, Columbus, Seattle-Tacoma, Des Moines, Wilmington, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Hunstville, Topeka, Denver, Champaign-Springfield, Sioux City, Orlando et al, Chattanooga, Albany, Pittsburgh, Harligen-Brownsville-McAllen, Wichita Falls and Charlotte.
