Mumbai: Columbia Pictures has acquired a pitch by Mark Perez for Happy Madison Productions to develop into a motion picture. The announcement was made by Columbia Pictures presidents Doug Belgrad and Matt Tolmach.
The story is about a man in a troubled marriage who figures out a new way to create the perfect wife.
Belgrad said, "Mark brought us this clever idea which was made especially funny by his insightful understanding of relationship issues. We think it will make a terrific comedy and look forward to working with him and the team at Happy Madison."
Perez is currently writing the comedy Early Retirement for Warner Bros. and What About Barb as a starring vehicle for Elizabeth Banks at Universal. He has previously penned Accepted.
Belgrad and Sam Dickerman will oversee for Columbia Pictures. Heather Parry will oversee the project on behalf of Happy Madison.
