MUMBAI: DivX has inked a licensing deal with Mtekvision Co. to grant DivX Mobile Certification to a new media processor chipset used in a variety of mobile platforms.
The MtekVision MV8722, part of the Maple family of media processors, will enable mobile devices which incorporate the new chipset to seamlessly playback high-quality DivX video at resolutions up to 720×400. These mobile devices will join over 100 million other DivX Certified devices shipped by DivX’s licensees into the market, including DVD players, digital cameras, video game consoles, digital televisions, and mobile phones. DivX Certification enables a premium visual experience and interoperability among an expanding ecosystem of devices and platforms.
