High Point Films gathers up Splintered film

Mumbai: High Point Films, the theatrical sales arm of Carey Fitzgerald’s High Point Media Group, has announced that it has picked up world rights (excluding the UK) for British horror flick Splintered by debut feature director, Simeon Halligan, produced by Rachel Richardson.

The story of a troubled teenage girl held captive by a man claiming to protect her from a feral killer, Splintered stars Stephen Martin Walters (Hannibal Rising, Batman Begins, Layer Cake) and up and coming Holly Weston (Filth and Wisdom).

With a proud history of handling such horror classics as George A. Romero’s landmark Dawn of the Dead, as well as frighteners including Rob Green’s The Bunker and, more recently, Slaughter Night, High Point is delighted to welcome Splintered into the fold. "We’re always on the look out for new talent and directors in different genres," says Fitzgerald, "and with the outstanding experience of Clive Parsons anchoring proceedings, Splintered looks set to pack a real punch for horror fans and beyond."

Splintered is midway through production, having started shooting in April, and will be delivered in time for Toronto.
