One Night With The King in Top 10 grossers

MUMBAI: Gener8Xion Entertainment, Inc’s epic feature film One Night With The King has grossed over $4 million in its debut weekend, landing the film in the top 10 bracket of highest grossing films in the country.


 


In addition, the film also placed fourth amongst this weekend’s nationally released films for the ‘per-screen’ average number.


 


Gener8Xion Entertainment, Inc. chairman and CEO Matthew Crouch said, “This is truly a historical time for Gener8Xion Entertainment and a time to celebrate.”


 


According to the Los Angeles Times, “Gener8Xion Entertainment Inc.’s biblical saga One Night With the King, featuring Peter O’Toole and Omar Sharif, fared slightly better than expected, placing ninth with an estimated gross of $4.3 million.”


 


The Hollywood Reporter wrote, “Arguably, the most surprising film performance of the weekend came from indie company Gener8Xion Entertainment, which opened One Night With the King on 909 screens nationwide. The biblical story of Queen Esther earned a remarkable $4.1 million for a ninth-place showing and a solid per-theater average of $4,518.”


 


Variety commented, “In other new rollouts, the Gener8Xion label’s indie religious pic One Night With the King made a strong bow in just 909 markets. Pic landed $4.3 million to put it solidly in the top 10, just edging out Paramount‘s heathen holdover Jackass Number Two.
