MUMBAI: DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc’s Shrek 3 recorded $ 122 million in weekend sales; breaking the record for animated films held by Shrek 2, which was $ 108 million in its debut.
The film opened worldwide at 4,122 theatres. Shrek 3 returns Mike Myers as the voice of the green ogre, who gets caught up in a cast of fairy tale characters featuring the voices of Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas. Unlike its predecessor, Shrek 3 received mixed reviews.
