Mumbai: Marcus Theatres has closed on the acquisition of approximately 11 acres of vacant land in the Southport West development in La Vista, Nebraska. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, and plans for the site have not been finalized.
The land is part of a mixed-use, commercial development known as Southport West in La Vista. The Southport West development spans 137 acres east of Interstate 80 approaching Omaha. Plans for the development include a combination of offices, hotels, restaurants and retailers, including a Cabelas, which opened in November 2006. Additional businesses, including an Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention Centre, are scheduled to open this year.
The Douglas locations, associates and customers have proven to be a valued addition to our theatre circuit," said Marcus president Bruce J. Olson. "We are still in the process of finalizing our plans for this land in Southport West, but we are excited to be a part of this dynamic and growing area of Omaha."
