Slumdog Millionaire Blu-Ray release on 31 March

MUMBAI: It’s doesn’t matter that the movie has been in the clutches of piracy for months now! The much talked about and awarded Slumdog Millionaire, will be released on Blu-ray Disc with Digital Copy and DVD on 31 March by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Garnering top honors at the 2009 Academy Awards including Best Picture (Christian Colson), Best Director (Danny Boyle), Best Original Score (AR Rahman), Best Original Song (AR Rahman) and Sampooran Singh Gulzar for Jai Ho, and Best Adapted Screenplay (Simon Beaufoy) amongst others, Slumdog Millionaire also won four Golden Globe Awards and seven BAFTA Film Awards.

Slumdog Millionaire is loosely based on the fictional novel Q and A by Indian writer Vikas Swarup, which tracks the life of Jamal Malik, an impoverished child living in Mumbai’s slums. Slumdog Millionaire stars Dev Patel, Freida Pinto, Madhur Mittal, Irrfan Khan, and Anil Kapoor.

The Slumdog Millionaire Blu-ray Disc With Digital Copy will be available for $39.98 (US) and $49.99 (Canada); the DVD will be available for $29.98 (US) and $43.48 (Canada).

In India, Shemaroo Entertainment will release the English (Slumdog Millionaire) and Hindi dubbed version (Slumdog Crorepati) of the film on home video.
