MUMBAI: Two veteran staffers, John C. Hall and Scott Rieckhoff are moving up in the ranks at Universal Pictures Distribution.
The announcement was made by Universal Pictures Distribution president Nikki Rocco.
Hall, who has been with Universal for 14 years and previously served as vice president, Exhibitor Relations, will continue to report to Rocco and Rieckhoff will move into the position vacated by Hall.
"John and Scott are two key members of our organization who have excelled in their responsibilities within the exhibitor relations group. They have both proven their leadership qualities, as well as their commitment to insuring that all Universal marketing materials have the greatest exposure in a crowded marketplace. With their keen sense of our business, they are poised to grow our in-theatre marketing group to be the finest in the industry. I am pleased that they have assumed these new, well-deserved roles," said Rocco.
In his new position, Hall will oversee the distribution of trailers, in-theater marketing activities and customer relations for Universal Pictures. Rieckhoff will assume additional responsibilities, including the development and execution of in-theatre promotions and oversight of the exhibitor relations field staff. Hall will continue to work closely with Rieckhoff and Exhibitor Relations director Lisa Holland, in maximizing Universal Pictures’ marketing presence.
Hall joined Universal in 1995 as an Exhibitor Relations representative in Dallas and then Atlanta before becoming Director of Exhibitor Relations in Los Angeles. In July 2007, Hall was promoted to Vice President of Exhibitor Relations. Prior to joining Universal in 1995, Hall was a Marketing Manager for AMC Theatres.
Rieckhoff began his career at Universal in 1998 as an Exhibitor Relations Representative for the Southern Region in Dallas. He was later promoted to Senior Representative and then to Director of Exhibitor Relations in Los Angeles. Prior to joining Universal, Rieckhoff was a 10-year veteran of General Cinema Corp. He currently serves as a Universal Pictures representative on the CARA Appeals Board.
