Tom Cruise’s son Connor to star in Red Dawn remake

MUMBAI: Tom Cruise’s son Connor Cruise, has landed a role in a remake of 1984 action war drama Red Dawn.
While the original helped to launch the Hollywood careers of Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen, the remake will see the group of teenagers fight against Russian and Chinese troops. Connor will play the character of a high school student Daryl who joins a group of fellow pupils to battle the troops who have invaded America.
Connor earlier played a young Will Smith in the 2008 film Seven Pounds. The entire cast of Red Dawn remake will be undergoing military training before the shoot. Newcomers Josh Hutcherson, Isabel Lucas and Edwin Hodge will be Connors co-stars in the film.
The shoot of the film is slated to start in Detroit and is expected to release in September 2010.
