MUMBAI: Viacom Inc. has appointed Denise White as executive vice president human resources and administration.
Based in New York, White will lead Viacom’s worldwide human resources strategies and practices to further develop the company’s innovative workplace and will report to Thomas E. Dooley, Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer of Viacom.
White, who begins her new role on 1 October, most recently served as the General Manager of Human Resources for the Entertainment and Devices Group at Microsoft Corp. Ms. White succeeds JoAnne Adams Griffith.

White joined Microsoft in 1990, when Microsoft was an emerging software company with 3500 employees based in Redmond, Washington. Over the course of 17 years, Denise and her teams have had responsibility for hiring over 35,000 employees. Most recently, as General Manager at Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices Division, White and her team address human resource strategy and complex talent needs for a workforce of more than 8000 employees in the company’s Interactive Entertainment Group. Prior to Microsoft, White was a human resources leader with Pan American World Airways and owned a human resources consulting firm. White established and manages two non-profit foundations directed at supporting at-risk youth and welfare of companion animals.
