Vivendi Entertainment Canada to distribute Marvel animated properties

MUMBAI: Vivendi Entertainment Canada (VEC) has entered into an exclusive agreement with Marvel Animation, a division of Marvel Entertainment, to acquire the Canadian home video rights for Marvel Animation’s next slate of animated TV series.
The deal includes: The Super Hero Squad Show, The Avengers: World’s Greatest Heroes and Black Panther.
The Super Hero Squad Show, launching this fall, is a super-stylized action adventure series based on the entire Marvel Universe with an added comedy twist. The property rolls out this fall with a wealth of licensed goods, including a video game from THQ.
The Avengers: World’s Greatest Heroes is an all-new property featuring some of the most popular Super Heroes in the Marvel Universe, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Hulk and Ant-Man, just to name a few.
The Super Hero Squad Show and The Avengers are slated for broadcast on Teletoon in both English and French Canada through Marvel Animation’s output deal with the network.
Black Panther is an 8 episode mini-series, voiced by Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou that recounts the origin of the iconic Super Hero. Black Panther will air on BET.
Vivendi Entertainment Canada vice president of sales and acquisitions Iain Taylor said, "Marvel is without a doubt the most visible comic-based brand in the market today and we are very excited to partner with this world class organization to help bring their properties into the Canadian marketplace."
Marvel Animation president Eric S. Rollman added, "The team at VEC are top notch and are personally passionate about the Marvel Universe making them a perfect match for Marvel Animation.
