BIG 92.7 FM celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi on air

Mumbai: BIG 92.7 FM, along with various local bodies has lined up interactive initiatives on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. The line up includes a mix of on-air talk shows, contests, call-ins and on-ground events surrounding Ganesh Chaturthi across its stations. BIG FM RJs will also visit the various pandals across the city to give live updates on the activities and interact with the people.

In Bangalore, the station is organizing a talent hunt called Comedy Ganesha. This is a contest to identify the best comedian in Bangalore since Ganesha is known for his talent, wit and wisdom. The top three short listed candidates will perform on-air between 4 – 8 September and request listeners to vote for them. Based on the listener ratings, the ultimate winner will be picked on 9 September who will then get a chance to play a role in a Kannada comedy TV serial called Point Parimala.

BIG FM Surat is organizing an on-ground social campaign during this season where a big hoarding in the form of a Ganesha will be erected with a slate in his hand. This slate will sport different messages during the 10-day festival like Beti Bachao, Global warming etc. A live booth set-up will be placed near this hoarding where BIG FM RJs will host their shows. Local celebrities will also be invited to judge competitions like Best Ganesha Idol and Pandal setup across the city along with live updates of the visarjan from various locations.

BIG FM Vadodara has tied up with the biggest Ganpati pandal in the city. A human character wearing the costume of a mouse will receive wishes from visitors at the pandal. A giant screen will show prominent Ganpati idols from other parts of city along with daily highlights of the festival to be aired regularly.

"We are continuously pushing the envelope in terms of content for our listeners. This festival season we will showcase customized programming which includes special capsules celebrating the festival, interesting trivia, places to shop and so on to bring out the true spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi," said BIG 92.7 FM national VP – programming Nirupam Sonu.
