Mumbai: Reliance Broadcast Network’s radio arm 92.7 BIG FM and Idea Cellular, the pan India mobile operator, present the ‘IDEA BIG BANGLA MUSIC AWARDS 2010’, a platform to recognize and celebrate talent in Bangla Music. The property, conceptualized and marketed by BIG Live (the experiential marketing arm of Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd), will see all its media verticals coming into play to ensure this music award permeates into consumers’ lives through multiple touch points.

IDEA BIG BANGLA MUSIC AWARDS 2010 will have a transparent modus operandi, with a Jury encompassing stalwarts such as singer Usha Uthup, percussionist Tanmoy Bose and composer Abhijit Bandyopadhyay who will select the nominees in 9 categories based on music released in 2009. Some of these categories will then be thrown open to popular voting – BIG Bangla Singer of the Year Male/Female, BIG Bangla Lyricist of the Year and BIG Bangla Rock/Pop Song of the Year. Final winners will be decided basis public voting via SMS, IVR, online and physical ballots. The Jury will select winners in the categories of BIG Debutant of the Year, BIG Rabindrasangeet Album of the Year & BIG Background Score of the Year. Idea is associated with 2 Awards – Idea BIG Song of the Year and Idea BIG Lifetime Achievement Award.

The grand finale, scheduled for August 13th, will witness an Awards Night at the Science City Auditorium graced by personalities from the Bangla music & entertainment industry. The event will be televised on ETV Bangla.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Siddhartha Gupta, Regional Head – East, 92.7 BIG FM said, “Bengal music has not received the recognition it deserves. Conceptualized by our experiential marketing wing BIG Live, this is an offering to be amplified through our radio station 92.7 BIG FM, given our core content is music. We are very happy to have IDEA Cellular partner us in our endeavor of recognizing and thanking our music stalwarts for their work.”
