MUMBAI: Legendary poet Amrita Pritam will be remembered once again, this time through an album, released as a tribute by poet and lyricist Gulzar.

Filmmaker Chandra Prakash Dwivedi realised Pritam’s dreams of making a film on her novel Pinjar, by making a film of the same title with Urmila Matondkar playing the principal character.

Sources say Gulzar shared a close bond with the late writer, who was amongst the top in Punjabi literati. As a tribute to the legendary writer, Gulzar has released an album of her rare poems. Titled ‘Amrita Pritam’, it has Pritam’s verses recited by Gulzar himself.”
