MUMBAI: Singer Lata Mangeshkar  will be the first one to receive  the Swarbhaskaraward in memory of Pandit Bhimsen Joshi.

The award which will be given by dancer Sitara Devi on 12 February, carries a prize of Rs1,11,161, a memento and citation.

In addition to the institution of Swarbhaskar  an annual cultural programme comprising classical concerts will also be held. Danseuse Shama Bhate will present Kathak fusion dance while Bhimsen Joshi’s son, Shriniwas will present classical vocal music.
