MUMBAI: Actor Mithun Chakraborty released the music of his son’s debut film Jimmy in Mumbai on 13 April.
The music was released on T-Series. The lyrics have been penned by writer Ranbir Pushp, who makes his debut as a lyricist. Anand Raaj Anand has provided the musical score for the film, whereas Chinni Prakash has choreographed the songs.
T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar, Shemaroo’s Atul and Raman Maroo, Priya Dutt, Bobby Deol, Rajpal Yadav and the entire unit of the film were present for the launch.
Jimmy is the launch pad for Mithun Chakraborty’s son, Mimoh Chakraborty. Model turned actress Vivana (the girl in the Thums Up ad with Akshay Kumar), who has learnt acting from Anupam Kher’s Acting Academy, plays the female lead.
Raj N.C. Sippy has directed the movie, which is jointly produced by Nawmaan Malik and Salman Malik under the banner of High-Definition Motion Pictures. Mithun Chakraborty is the presenter of the film.
Nawmaan Malik says, “Jimmy is the story of DJ. It has music, romance, thrill and all the other ingredients to make it a complete family entertainer.”
The film is slated to release in the first week of June. “We were supposed to release the film last year, but being a perfectionist, Mithun-da wanted to re-shoot some portions of the film. Recently he even choreographed the first ‘Antra’ of the title song, which introduces Mimoh. Apart from the music being with T-Series, the India video and overseas territory rights have been acquired by Shemaroo; C.P. Berar is with Shreerang Films; Orissa is with Ashish Movies, Bihar and Jharkhand through Jyoti Films, Assam through Mumpi Films. The other deals are being closed shortly.”
The film co-stars Zulfi Sayed, Ashish Vidyarthi, Ehsaan Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Vikas Kalantri and Rahul Dev.
