Music of Dharm launched

MUMBAI: The music of forthcoming film Dharm was released on 15 May 2007 at the Planet M store in Mumbai.

Directed by debutante Bhavna Talwar, Dharm is a film about Pandit Ram Narayan Chaturvedi, a Hindu Brahmin priest who lives by his belief in the ‘true Hindu way of life’. His life has been following an uninterrupted pattern of rituals and prayers for the past 30 years… when a child comes into his life and shakes the very core of his beliefs. Pankaj Kapoor plays the role of Pandit Chaturvedi and is supported by Supriya Pathak as his wife.

The musical interpretation of this journey has been created by Debajyoti Mishra, whose previous films include Raincoat. Sonu Nigam is the voice of the film and this is the first time he has rendered classical songs. The film’s score includes 20 tracks (both vocal as well as instrumental).

Present at the music release were film industry personalities like Manmohan Shetty, Hrishitaa Bhatt, Pankaj Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, Sheetal Talwar, Bhavna Talwar and Debajyoti Mishra.

Dharm is set to be the closing film at the India section of Tous Les Cinemas du Monde at the Cannes International Film Festival 2007.
