Percept recreates Jai Ho for Congress party’s campaign

MUMBAI: The Oscar winning song ‘Jai Ho’ composed by AR Rahman and which has lyrics by Gulzaar, has been rewritten for the Congress party’s campaign. Percept Picture Company has procured the exclusive rights of Jai Ho (Slumdog Millionaire) from T-Series for election campaign of Congress.

Further, the song has been recreated with fresh lyrics to suit their party image. A music video has also been shot depicting the legacy of Congress party in India.

A source close to Percept Picture Company disclosed, “The ‘Jai Ho’ song has been rewritten while retaining the key words Jai Ho. Sukhwinder Singh, who has sung the original song, has also lent his voice for this. The lyrics will trace the journey of the Congress since its existence, from Jawaharlal Nehru to Rahul Gandhi. The music video has already been shot by Percept Picture Company.”

Percept Picture Company CEO Navin Shah said, “The music video will definitely hit the bull’s eye. It traces the legacy of the Congress and has been designed so that it will strike a chord with today’s youth, who is yearning for some action from politicians.”

The song is likely to be on all media from 8 March onwards.
