MUMBAI: Saregama India has released Geetmala Ki Chhaon Mein – Vol. 16- 20, an album that’s a compilation of songs that were played during Ameen Sayani’s show – Binaca Geetmala.
Binaca Geetmala was a hit all across India, from the 50’s all the way to the 90’s. The album contains songs that were played on the show from 1961 to 1963 in this particular volume and it also comes along with Sayani ‘s commentary, introducing each song.
Sayani said, "Bhaiyon aur Behno the success of Geetmala Ki Chhao Mein is entirely due to you – The Golden Period Music Lovers! It has been a wonderful and joy-filled experience re – living the old days of talking and playing music to India. I am extremely grateful and indebted to those that remember me and I share a common bond, with those that still remember and love the old Indian music from back then, that will be on the album – after-all old is gold. I cannot thank Saregama India Ltd enough for the wonderful opportunity.”

His is a voice, that I am sure many Indians have grown up hearing and he is one the most imitated Radio jockeys that I have ever heard of. Priced at Rs 545, the 5-volume packs of the series are being distributed and marketed by Saregama India and will be available at all leading stores across India.
