MUMBAI: Tuesday evening saw musical maestro A R Rahman unveiling singer Hariharan’s new album Waqt Par Bolna. The album will be released by Sony BMG India.
Hariharan’s Waqt Par Bolna is a collection of 10 songs, which fall under the genre of “Urdu Blues”, a terminology coined by Hariharan himself in the year 2000 through his album Kaash.
Waqt Par Bolna is a confluence of diverse cultures and innovative sounds as it captures the sound of musicians from New Orleans, Toronto, London , California and India. The album is a blend of Jazz, Rhythm & Blues amalgamated with Indian classical music in modernistic fashion.
“Waqt Par Bolna contains emotions, harmony and music that I believe every individual will cherish. The album has been created by musicians from various backgrounds. It is creative, different and a mix of east and west,” says Hariharan.
