MUMBAI: In a recent business initiative, T-Series has forayed into distribution and marketing of animation films.
With their target segment underlined as kids, short films like Shri Ganesh, Akbar Birbal and Shri Krishna Leela have been released in the first phase.
These VCDs are available in different languages like English, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Marathi. Plans are to launch wallpapers and interactive games on the above mentioned films as well.
“We realised the potential of kids segment after the success of animation films like Hanuman, Shrek and The Incredibles. Our aim is to not just propagate cartoon films but to also instill cultural values in the kids. Soon we will also be releasing audio CDs of Gayatri Mantras, Hanuman Chalisa and Maha-Mritunjaya Jap,” informs T- Series chairman and managing director Bhushan Kumar.
Kumar further mentioned that this was just their first step into the kids segment. Plans are also to grow in the space by releasing international titles of animated films like Alice In Wonderland , The Hunchback of Notre Dame, 20,000 League Under The Sun, all of which will release in April.
“We are also working on a kid’s album with Gulzarji and Pritam,” Kumar concludes.
