Virgin to augment FM services in India

MUMBAI: Virgin group’s CEO, Sir Richard Branson is in India to expand Fever 104 FM’s services in the country. Fever 104 FM is a collaboration between Virgin Radio and HT Media.


Already present in three cities – Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, there are plans of a launch in Kolkata soon.


 


Branson is very enthusiastic about the radio FM space in India and the growth that it promises as he said, “The FM radio space in India is showing tremendous promise. I am very happy with the progress that Fever 104 FM has made. Virgin and HT Media have worked together successfully to create a differentiated and compelling brand and business in Fever 104 FM.”


 


He added, “I have loved music since the age of 17 and formed Virgin Records, the first Virgin venture then. He added, as record sales are dying down, live music is the mainstay today and post the A.R Rahman concert, which was a massive hit among city audience, we are looking forward to take the next step in the same direction.


 

HT Media Ltd CEO Rajiv Verma said, “Virgin Radio is a leader in all markets that it serves. They have brought comprehensive technical expertise to this venture, and HT Media provides the understanding of the local market.  We have already seen the fruits of this partnership in the recent successes that Fever 104 FM has notched up.  We hope to achieve many more milestones in the years to come.”
