MUMBAI: Wellknown Bollywood music composer Dattaram Wadkar passed away on 8 June 2007 at his Goa residence.
The man behind some of the most lyrical tunes, including ‘Chun Chun Karti Aayi Chidiya’ and ‘Masti Bhara Hai Samaan’ died of a severe heart attack.
While he was one of the core members of the RK music team, he also worked, for a few years, with composers Laxmikant Pyarelal. Dattaram scored music for films like Ab Dilli Door Nahin, Farishta and Parvarish, amongst others. In the 1970 classic Bombay Talkie, he essayed the character of a singer. In 1992, he was also associated with Mansoor Khan’s film, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander.
