The mother of the Bhojpuri actress says her daughter couldn’t have committed suicide.
The alleged suicide of a 29-year-old Bhojpuri actress has taken a new turn. The actress’ body was found by the police on Monday and a day after, on Tuesday her mother claimed that Anjali couldn’t commit suicide and hence, the police has been assigned the task to investigate the matter.
The victim’s mother was heard saying, ”We just want the police to probe the matter thoroughly. Neither the door of her apartment was closed from inside nor did she leave a suicide note. I am very sure that she didn’t commit suicide.” The mother also told that she had talked to Anjali a night the incident before and she seemed fine. “She was fine and was talking very nicely. I was there till June 5 and as soon as I went back home this incident took place. I can’t believe that she did this,” the mother said.

On Monday, the 29-year-old actress’ body was recovered by the police after she allegedly committed suicide in her Andheri West apartment. Anjali Shrivastav’s relatives took the help of her landlord when she did not pick up their calls for a long time. When the landlord opened the door with a duplicate key, her body was found hanging from the ceiling fan. No suicide notes have been recovered to confirm the alleged suicide.
DCP Rashmi Karandikar, Mumbai Police spokesperson told Hindustan Times, ”She lived in Parimal society in Juhu Lane in Andheri west. The DN Nagar police have not found any suicide note. Probe is on to find out why she took the extreme step.”
The body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for postmortem and the police are investigating the case to find more information.
