Song Review: Khamakhaan From Bewakoofiyaan – A Huge Dampener

Khamakhaan_37[tps_footer]Post Gulcharrey, the expectations were really high but then Khamakhaan, the latest song from Bewakoofiyaan is a huge led down.

It is a real shame that after such a peppy number like Gulcharrey, the makers of Bewakoofiyaan made a song that should have never been a part of the film in the first place.

Vocals by Neeti Mohan and Ayushmann Khurrana, lyrics by Habib Faisal and music by Raghu Dixit, Khamakhaan is just avoidable.

The song starts off with Sonam, who plays the role of Meyera, doing her best to impress, Mohit played by Ayushmann. Both are seen shaking a leg in an empty lit street in the dead of night.

In the video, the usually well styled Sonam Kapoor looks cute and seductive in a shimmery strapless dress while Ayushmann Khurrana is seen desperately trying to look cool and macho and is desperate to jump into bed with his girl. Oops, this one hurts.

Guess this song was just composed for fun because neither the composition nor the lyrics are interesting. The use of the electric guitars and all other instruments to form a slow motion jazz environment when Sonam Kapoor shows off her assets doesn’t fly too well and the whole video feels badly coordinated.

I found this song to be very weak and mediocre. The song shows off Sonam and Ayushmann getting intimate and it ends there. Sadly, this one does not work at all.

WATCH KHAMAKHAAN – BEWAKOOFIYAAN VIDEO:
Bewakoofiyaan is a story about an ambitious corporate couple (Sonam and Ayushmann) madly in love with each other, while Rishi Kapoor essays the role of Sonam’s bureaucratic father who is none too pleased to know he earns less than his daughter.

Directed by Nupur Asthana, written by Habib Faisal and produced by Aditya Chopra, Bewakoofiyaan is slated to hit screens on March 14, 2014.[/tps_footer]
