This latest song from 2 States, a slow and melodious number, captures the romantic moment between Krish Malhotra (Arjun Kapoor) and Ananya Swaminathan (Alia Bhatt). Both Alia and Arjun in Mast Magan are lovable, cute, adorable as well as intense.
Mast Magan is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and vocals by Arijit Singh and Chinmayi Sripada. Arijit Singh has once again hit bulls eye with this song, as Mast Magan shall surely touch that romantic cord in all its listeners. Amitabh Bhattacharya deserves a special mention for penning Mast Magan. Amitabh’s words tend to have a colloquial nature, but they also have a tremendous amount of soul. Mast Magan has been filmed at real locations in Tamil Nadu; a temple at Mylapore and a pier at Ennore beach.
Both Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt look their part and the song has some beautiful moments; be it Krish Malhotra eating all by himself and not offering his love Ananya Swaminathan even a bite or the cute gestures between the two when Krish enters Ananya’s house. All in all, Mast Magan just makes you fall in love all over again.

A screen adaptation of Chetan Bhagat‘s novel by the same name, 2 States is the story about a Punjabi boy who falls in love with a Tamil girl, and the ensuing cultural clashes between them and their families.
Krish Malhotra meets Ananya Swaminathan at IIM Ahmedabad where they are both pursuing an M.B.A. Ananya’s charm and good looks bring her to the popularity chart at the Institute, and although Krish finds her very appealing, this reputation makes him wary of her. Ananya enlists Krish’s help who is an IIT graduate and the duo began their friendship. Soon this friendship blossoms into love and the pair becomes inseparable.
2 States, is being co-produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala along with Chetan Bhagat and the film is being directed by debutant Abhishek Varman, who previously assisted Karan Johar during My Name Is Khan.
2 States is set to release on April 18, 2014.
