Bigg Boss Replacements On Colors Spell Disaster

Rangrasia 02

[tps_footer]The two shows that have replaced Bigg Boss 7 on Colors are Beintehaa and Rangrasiya and both of them spell disaster.

Beintehaa, is all about a love story that starts with a NO.  Now what’s unique about this show? Well nothing at all. It’s a typical soap with no edge.

It’s a love story of Aaliya and Zain – played by newcomers Preetika Rao and Harshad Arora. While Preetika is still presentable, Harshad is someone who neither has screen presence nor a persona to carry a role like this.  He looks incapable of translating any emotions on screen and lacks depth that was mandatory for a character like this.

The only saving grace for this show is Naved Aslam who is essaying the character of Usman and father to Zain. But his is over-the-top wife played by Suchitra Pillai looks totally miscast.

On the other hand, the characters of Aaliya’s parents, Riva Bubber and Rituraj, are mere cardboard characters and it seems that no thought has gone into it while the creative team was working on them.

On the whole, if Colors was looking at giving Zee TV’s Qubool Hai a run of it’s money, then they have fallen flat with Beintehaa.

Now lets talk about the other show Colors is now airing – Rangrasiya. This show is worse than the previous one. The only saving grace is that is technically far better looking than Beintehaa.

For starters, the principal characters of RangrasiyaParo (Sanaya Irani) and Rudra (Ashish Sharma) look totally miscast and out of character.

All we can see is Paro running like a banshee through the deserts and our man just looking at her.  Close-up, slow motion shots and more jarring music – that’s what this show is all about.

All said and done, can we please be spared such torture and can we have Bigg Boss 8 back soon? Or how about a re-run of Bigg Boss 7?[/tps_footer]
