The seventh episode of Koffee With Karan Season 4 had the multi talented Farhan Akhtar and an actress that personifies woman power, Vidya Balan.
While the last episode that featured Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone who touched the epitome for being FAKE, this one was heartfelt, genuine and warm.
The first one to walk in was Farhan Akhtar who looked very much at ease, talking about all that he has achieved so far. Couple of minutes later, Karan called in the vibrant and full of spunk Vidya Balan who looked stunning.
On one hand Farhan was cool with all the female attention he had started getting post Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Vidya looked very comfortable with all the negative comments that she gets either for the way she dresses or for her weight.
Karan tried very hard to get some saucy and spicy answers from Farhan but then fell flat with his attempt. However Vidya did whatever she could with her TALL and THINK innuendo. Now this is something that looked silly and completely insane with the two guests for the evening, but then at the end of it that’s Karan for you.
One could see a great camaraderie between the Shaadi Ke Side Effects pair, something that was not forced or a put on. The episode ended on a winning note for Farhan as he won both the hamper as well as the quiz.
Now this is what everyone saw, everyone wrote and everyone made fun off. What nobody saw is this:
Farhan Akhtar was the man in command. He came across as a very stable and well brought up guy. Yes one could see that he has gone though a lot to reach where he is today. A sense of hurt was clearly visible when he thanked all the people who ran down Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and it finally fell in his lap. Also about the fact that he should think twice before he starts to sing came across very clearly. Farhan definitely came across as someone who is very well versed with what he is doing and knows his job well.
On the other hand Vidya Balan who was considered as a disaster prior to Dirty Picture, came across as someone who has proved a point to everyone who wrote her off. Not only was the girl criticized about her looks, her acting, but also labeled as a home breaker, something that she is upset and hurt deep down. But then being a fighter she has taken all of it in her stride and proved it all wrong.
At the end of it, both Farhan and Vidya came across as very genuine, intelligent and well read. Both were similar in their approach towards life, both have had their share for criticisms and both have put all of it behind and moved on. One can easily say that this episode of Koffee With Karan Season 4 by far is the most genuine and interesting episode to watch.
