MUMBAI: Yash Raj Films has released the trailer of their next ambitious project ‘Aurangzeb’, directed by Atul Sabharwal.
The film’s title is inspired by the Mughal Emperor ‘Aurangzeb’ aka “world-seizer” who ruled over most of the Indian subcontinent.
‘Aurangzeb’ features Arjun Kapoor, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jackie Shroff, Rishi Kapoor, Amrita Singh, Sikander Kher and Sasha Agha and is touted to be a remake of the 1978 hit film ‘Trishul’.
The trailer begins with a glimpse of north Indian city – Gurgaon. A group of policemen have made up their mind to bring down a family of gangsters. And they soon realize, they must think like the criminals.
The plot of ‘Aurangzeb’ revolves around the two determined policemen played by Rishi Kapoor and Prithviraj Sukumaran. They struggle to find evidences against Yashvardhan (Jackie Shroff), with the smart Ajay (Arjun Kapoor) covering up the criminal minded real estate agent’s tracks. The police then hatch a plan and capture Ajay and implant his look-alike Vishal into Yashvardhan’s camp.
Thus begins the dark story of greed, lust and power supported by Amartya Rahut’s music.
Produced by Aditya Chopra, ‘Aurangzeb’ will release on May 17, 2013.
